This newsletter comes to you from a balcony in Los Alcazares, overlooking the Mar Menor - yes, writing newsletters is my chosen holiday activity! I hope that you are all enjoying the summer and are not suffering too much from the extreme heat that has become a regular feature of our turbulent global weather.

We have been involved with several events since our last newsletter and reports of some of these can be read below. Similarly you can read below of the current and future events that we hope will interest you and that we would encourage you to attend.

As the undergraduate essay prize is such a new venture, I would like to draw the attention of all universities to the notice below.

I hope to continue to produce a newsletter every two months unless there is something urgent or significant to communicate to you all. The contents below this letter should bring you up to date with all the latest events and reports all linked to our website. Nonetheless I would encourage you to browse our website more fully as it has many interesting features - and probably plenty of mistakes! I can’t offer prizes but would really appreciate it if you would draw my attention to these latter.

Thursday 18 July 2019 - July 2020 IRELAND

The Museum of Childhood Ireland Project (MCI Project) presents their exhibition: "The Basque Children of '37". This is the 2nd in the series of MCI Projects travelling exhibitions on "Children in War".

The exhibition will visit several venues whose details and dates will be announced on the web and in the eNotices when available. We list below details of the first few. Later, during 2019 and 2020, the exhibition will visit the city libraries of ATHLONE, LEITRIM, DERRY, BELFAST, WARRENPOINT, DROGHEDA, OFFALY, CARLOW, WEXFORD and we hope to close with a grand final in DUBLIN in mid July 2020!

Este boletín os llega desde un balcón en Los Alcázares, con vistas al Mar Menor. ¡Sí, escribir boletines es una de mis actividades de vacaciones! Espero que todos estéis disfrutando del verano y no estéis sufriendo demasiado por el calor extremo que se ha convertido en una característica habitual de nuestro clima global turbulento.

Hemos participado en varios eventos desde nuestro último boletín y los informes de algunos de ellos se pueden leer a continuación. Del mismo modo, también podéis leer los eventos actuales y futuros. Esperamos que os interesen y os animamos a asistir.

Siendo tan nuevo el premio de ensayo de pregrado, me gustaría que todas las universidades prestaran atención a la nota abajo.

Espero continuar redactando un boletín cada dos meses, a menos que haya algo urgente o significativo que comunicarlos. El contenido que se encuentra debajo de esta carta pretende teneros al día sobre todos los últimos eventos e informes. No obstante, os animo a navegar por nuestro sitio web mas detalladamente ya que hay muchos informes interesantes, ¡y probablemente muchos errores! No puedo ofrecer premios, pero agradecería sinceramente si alguien me advirtiera de alguno.

El Proyecto Museo de la Infancia de Irlanda presenta la 2ª exposición en su serie "Niños en la guerra: Los niños vascos del '37.

La exposición visitará varios lugares cuyos detalles y fechas se anunciarán en la web y en los avisos electrónicos cuando estén disponibles. Enumeramos a continuación los detalles de los primeros. Esto será seguido por un mes cada uno en otras bibliotecas de la ciudad, incluyendo: Co. Mayo, Co. Leitrim, y Derry and Belfast Central Libraries en enero y febrero de 2020. Los lugares finales, las fechas y los detalles se anunciarán en la web y en los eNotices cuando estén disponibles.
